FAFSA Window Opening 

The window for submitting a 2026 FAFSA will open October 1. We encourage all high school counselors to work with their Class of 2026 graduating students to submit a FAFSA early. Families are encouraged to obtain their FSA-ID and begin the submission process as soon as possible.   

Accessing the FAFSA Data Service - Student Data Portal 

Counselors working with soon-to-be graduating students are encouraged to use the FAFSA Data Service Student Data Portal to assist with the tracking of individual student FAFSA submissions. Access to the FAFSA Data Service (FDS) is limited to credentialed users from eligible public, community, and STEM schools with active status. After the FAFSA Data Access and Security Agreement is completed, superintendents may grant access to counselors and approved partners to support FAFSA completion. Counselors should contact their superintendent or school’s governing body and request access. For additional assistance, contact support@ohiofafsa.org.
